Weather:  The climate in Costa Rica is very similar to Florida.  The Winter is dry and moderate.  The interior of the country can often be humid with warm days; cooler on the coast.

Currency:  Costa Rican Colón

Electric: Check your need for a power plug converter and  (travel) adapter.  The power plugs and sockets in Costa Rica are of type A and B. The standard voltage is 120 V and the frequency is 60 Hz.  A Converter may be required, depending on what you are plugging in (some items have a built in converter).  Carefully review your device.

 

VISA - NO Visa is required

Exit tax is $29 USD - 1 page per entry stamp.  You can pay in cash (USD), Colones or credit card.  If you have checked in online, stop by the airline counter to get yourself verified of the exit tax payment.  They usually have to put a stamp on your boarding pass that you paid the exit tax.

Immunization/Shots:

According to the Centers for Disease Control, there are no obligatory vaccines you need before traveling to Costa Rica (unless visiting on your own to remote areas). Check your records to see if it's time to update your routine shots. The DPT vaccines, which protect against diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus, should be updated every 10 years.

                before 6:00 pm

Return:    Fly home from Liberia (LIR) 

                after 11:30 am
