Autumn- April & May:

Generally warm and dry with days getting shorter and the temperature cooling

Spring- September & October:

Weather can be good, although rain is common

Spring - July - Sept:

If you don’t mind a bit of cooler weather, winter months from June to September bring superb conditions for viewing big game.

Flights – best pricing these days is found online during airline specials.  We don’t book flights, but we'll gladly let you know the airlines specials to share with your group.  Always recommend your travelers book directly online with the airline – discourage 3rd party sites like, Expedia…

Group Air is available, but pricing is no longer competitive with online and seats cannot be selected (so you will get a lot of middle seats).


Weather varies, as it is a large country encompassing a variety of terrain.


High Season (Nov-Mar)

  • Peak times are early December to mid-January and around Easter.

Shoulder (Apr-May & Sep-Oct)

  • Sunny Autumn (Apr-May) and spring (Sept-Oct) weather.

  • Optimum wildlife-watching conditions from autumn onward.

  • Wildflower season late Aug to early September.

  • Whale watching best around spring.

Low Season (Jun-Aug)

  • Winter is ideal for wildlife watching.

  • Rainy season in Cape Town and the Western Cape.
