The best time to visit Italy is during Spring and Autumn, when the temperatures are comfortable and there are fewer crowds.
Flight Logistics:
Book roundtrip in/out of Rome, Italy FCO
If you are arriving the day we board the ship - please arrive by 1pm.
Return flight - book to fly out FCO anytime after NOON.
Embarkation:: Civitavecchia Port, Italy. Approx. 70 - 90 minutes north of Rome city center, depending on the time of day and traffic. . Arrive to board anytime between 4pm - 6pm
The location of the ship will be provided in your Cruise Documents a couple of weeks before you sail
Transfers day of embarkation:: Star Clippers does not offer a transfer from the airport to the ship.

or take a taxi once you are leaving the airport. Negotiate the price first, and check to make sure they take credit cards before getting in the taxi.
Please allow from the FCO airport to the Port approx. 50 - 60 minutes of drive time, depending on traffic.
Please allow from Rome City center to the Port approx. 70 - 90 minutes of drive time, depending on traffic.
The location of the ship will be provided in your Cruise Documents a couple of weeks before you sail - but you can pre-book as Civitavecchia Port, and provide the exact dock later.
Upon boarding the Star Clipper: Once you have boarded and checked in, you will want to do 1 thing without delay -
1. Go the the Ship Library and Book your shore excursions. $ Fee
This cannot be done beforehand - do on board in the Library.
Disembarkation at Civitavecchia Port, Italy:
You will be disembarking the ship approx. between 8am - 9:30am.
All passengers must leave the ship at that time.
Weather: September will be "end of Summer" weather - warm days; pleasant nights. Always a breeze.
Currency: Italy - Euros
Electric: 220 V in Italy. Plug Adapter required. A Converter may be required, depending on what you are plugging in (some items have a built in converter). Carefully review your device.
VISA - There is no VISA required.
Immunization/Shots: According to the Centers for Disease Control, there are no obligatory vaccines you need before traveling to this location (unless visiting on your own to remote areas). Check your records to see if it's time to update your routine shots. The DPT vaccines, which protect against diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus, should be updated every 10 years.
